There
has always been a concern, but never to the degree there is now,
with male impotence. Thanks to the arrival of Viagra, there has
been more open discussion on the topic than ever before. Men who
have been frustrated with various sexual problems are flocking to
Viagra, hoping for a panacea for all their bedroom problems. However,
according to a 1992 conference on Impotence by the National Institute
of Health (NIH), "Education of the public on aspects of sexual dysfunction
is essential" and "Education of physicians and other health professionals
in aspects of human sexuality is currently inadequate, thus curriculum
development is urgently needed."
If
there is any disruption in either the arterial flow or venous constriction
of blood, an erection will be impossible, or at best insufficient.
